More Modern Swing Analysis Failure – On “Using The Ground/Vertical Lift”

**Another Submission From The “Modern Golf Analysis Fail Chronicles,” Originally posted August 22, 2019**

I made a point in a comment about Justin Thomas having very low Angle of Attack despite his “flying foot” which is supposed to add “vertical lift” or to be “using the ground,” and I said that I’d check to make sure.

Why The Golf Channel Died

I am still going through my historical postings with a mind to re-posting the more relevant topics and here is one about the reason I believe the Golf Channel died.

It may not actually be, as I just checked and there’s a programming schedule that includes pre-event shows, live events, endless re-playing of live events and very little original content other than “School of Golf.”

Scottie Scheffler’s Good & Not-So-Good Footwork

If you watch Scottie Scheffler’s swing mechanics, you’ll see good and not-so-good footwork in the same swing.

The culprit, you won’t be surprised to find out, is the ever-execrable Modern Golf Swing, and let me show you how it goes.

Imagine That Tiger Woods Had Been Taught This (Sam Snead)

I’ve called Sam Snead’s golf swing the greatest self-taught swing ever on the PGA Tour, and it’s no surprise that he was the leading total events winner until Tiger Woods caught him.

Now, imagine that instead of the horrific Modern Golf Swing model(s) that wrecked his body, starting with his left knee, Tiger Woods had been taught this action:

Do You Want To Play Golf As A SPORT Or As a GAME?

mike trout top golfYou may think it’s an odd question, but it’s a question for the serious, want to learn a proper swing person to consider.

The reason I ask is because you can play golf with ANY type of golf swing, good, bad, horrific, and you can play it very well if you’re prepared to practice endlessly to develop a repeating move with all of the flaws contained in an “anything goes” swing.

What Does “MCS” in the “MCS Golf Swing” Mean?

The “MCS” in the phrase “MCS Golf Swing” of course means “Mechanically-Correct Swing.”

The answer to that question with any iteration you choose to pick from the Modern Golf Swings out there is simply and concisely, “No,” which means it shouldn’t be used for the purpose of swinging a golf club.

Tom Watson’s Words of Wisdom

I’ve said before that golf will never be taken seriously as a “sport” (although it was for a brief period during the height of the Tiger Woods era) because it doesn’t follow the same athletic principles.

This Is Big – Golf Digest Publishes The “X-Factor” Study

*Originally Posted February 6, 2019*

As I have time, I’ll be going through my archives to re-post articles that I still find relevant.  This is one of them, edited slightly.

Well, I had just said yesterday not to hold one’s breath on any major golf publications or channels discussing the results of the so-called “X-Factor” study we read about in the BBC

And look here, friends – Golf Digest through GolfWorld courtesy of Joe Beall has just published a piece online doing exactly that:

Science Now Says – Modern Golf Swing Destroys Your Back

Thanks to everyone who emailed/messaged about the following news piece, as I hadn’t yet seen it when I began getting your forwards!  Once again, WAX Golf readers are on the ball.

While the title actually says, “X-Factor Golf Swing Linked To Back Pain,” you can’t have pain without damage, and if you’re damaging your back doing something repeatedly over a period of years – you’re going to destroy it.
