MCS Gold – Archive Swings Exactly How I Would Swing Today

I’ve been searching through my fairly large swing archive from between 2015-2022 and have found some archived swings from 2022 that are pretty much how I would be telling people to swing with the MCS Golf Swing model.

The years of 2023-25 consisted mostly of my investigating just about every variation of the swing with regards to grip, stance and mechanics, but as I have said, I basically had the MCS swing model figured out by 2015 and, aside from my personal journey to swing like this model, there has been very little change in said model over the years.

Charley Hull Doesn’t Watch Modern Golf On TV

The only thing I would add to Charley Hull’s comments on Modern Golf are that the Modern Golf Swing itself is also a reason to not watch golf on television today.

You all know my views on it – I rarely if ever watch golf on television these days, aside from the odd final round of interest, such as Rory at the Masters last April.

Why No One Can Swing Like Ben Hogan

There is no one out there, no matter what they tell you, who swings like Ben Hogan.

There is an entire cottage industry built around “swing like Ben Hogan,” and every one of the claims is either an outright fraud or a complete misunderstanding of how the man swung.

Modern Golf Swingers – It’s Not That Fracking Hard…

It is absolutely unbelievable to me what I was seeing on YouTube before I took that week off blogging just to keep my sanity, and I’ve wondered before if we’re all just living in a really stupid simulation.

“Let’s just take all thought, reason and intelligence out of the golf swing world and see what happens…”

IF I WERE To Swing With A Left-Biased Pivot…

There is something to be said about having a background in diverse athletic pursuits – I played everything from footy (soccer) to baseball to hockey to basketball to competing in track & field, all between the ages of 7 to 23 before swinging a golf club for the first time at age 25.

During that time, I obviously acquired something of an instinct for self-preservation, shall we say, or avoiding injury through proper technique and the drilling of such.

The Left Arm Leverage Drop – Down The Line

I forgot to mention in yesterday’s post that John Daly used this left arm swing drill before playing every round when he was on Tour.

He wasn’t the type to warm up hitting dozens of balls with different clubs – he would get the feel of his swing for the day hitting a few wedges swinging left-arm only, and then head for the 1st tee.

There’s Too Much Bad Golf Online – I Can’t Fight It

Update: I will be listing any online swing instructors that people alert me to at the bottom of the posting /update

I took some time off blogging, as you’ve obviously noticed, and it wasn’t just that I’ve been spending summer time with the family during the school break.

I also just got so sick and tired of going through golf content online that I can no longer do it for the purposes of pointing out nonsense and garbage swing mechanics.

The Tragic Tale Of Tiger Woods (Nearly Hogan But Not Hogan)

As I’ve said, I never really looked very hard at Tiger Woods’ golf swing other than to look for things to tell others not to do, but the more I look at the younger Tiger Woods, the more tragic his story becomes.

It’s because he was likely taught a Ben Hogan swing model, but a Modern Golf Swing version of it, which made it not Ben Hogan’s swing because of the one thing that made Hogan the great swinger that he was.

And Of Course – So, If Tiger Woods Jumped Off A Cliff…

Yes, the entire Modern Golf Swing world would follow him, it unfortunately seems.

I didn’t even go looking for this – I was watching all of this ridiculous modern swing instruction that tells everyone that it’s not proper mechanics to shift one’s hips on the down swing, and it eventually fell from the sky as these things do.

More Modern Golf Swing – “Let’s Just Swing On One Leg!”

I’ve got a wild one here, folks.  Fasten seatbelts.

This account has over 1 million followers and the clip I just watched has over 20K likes, and I don’t know what’s going on out there.

Here’s something that is so obvious that I feel silly even saying it – nearly 100% of people who play golf possess two working legs, and this is for those people – why would you swing on one leg when you have two of them?
