I Kept My Promise – The Hogan Pivot

I will be taking a little time to restore my mental faculties after having struggled with this last video, but I will take advantage of my first post-video blog post to share something about which I’m proud.

I used to suspect, beginning years back, that really great swingers never divulged their secrets to their golf swings, especially one Ben Hogan.

I also promised myself that when I made a swing video, I would never hold back on something that I knew with regards to how I swung myself, or what I saw in another swinger’s mechanics.

The Basics Of The MCS Golf Swing Video – Now Available!

Well, we’re finally here, WAX Nation – the new “Basics Of The MCS Golf Swing” video is now available for download!

I was able to cut and slash the instructional material to within a half hour’s length – it is very short but very concise, with everything you need laid out in basic instructional form.  It is, in essence, whatever I would have presented in another era, but without all of the extraneous side-bars and repetition.

Things Are Looking Better With The Video – Simplification

“How difficult should it be to learn (or to explain) a proper golf swing?”

I am refraining from giving constant updates with regards to the video project because things keep evolving in the process.

I think I’ve nailed a part of something (and because I have OCD, I keep re-visiting things), only to have a better way (I believe) to explain or show something, and revising begins anew.

In days past, I just put my head down and went through it all, and I invariably ended up hating all of my videos because I thought they could have been better.

Re: Jack Nicklaus vs Tiger Woods – These Two Things Have Always Irritated Me

I have already posted my opinion on the G.O.A.T. debate, and I say that the stats put that argument to rest, beyond a shadow of a doubt.

If you are fresh to the blog and haven’t already seen the discussion, I will happily link proof to you of a couple of things I’ve already highlighted.

Re-Started The Video – I Wasn’t Satisfied (Here’s Why)

I took a look at what I had completed with the new video, after I recovered from my flu and things settled down with the holidays, and I just wasn’t happy – I am simply a bit of a perfectionist at the worst of times.

What I found was that much of the explanation portion of the previous videos wasn’t what I want to say NOW about the golf swing, and searching through endless previous footage of the tutorials was ending with my having to “make do” with things that I thought or felt I would explain differently were I to actually shoot a new video.

Adding A Segment On The “Nicklaus” Grip (MCS Video)

Part of the reason this project is taking so long to complete is that I am still looking at things while I’m putting all of the components together.

I have in the past couple of days spent a good deal of time looking at the grip instruction in my previous videos, and finding them OK for showing the “standard neutral grip” that I have always advocated, but there’s something else I want to offer.

I’ve Found My Raw Video Footage From The “E = MCS” & “Kinesiology” Videos

I can’t believe I found them, but I did indeed – not the published videos that I released in past years, but the raw, unedited video that I shot when I was creating those published videos for release.

This is massive – I have been lamenting how I was having a devil of a time watching and taking clips from the finished videos, but I went digging today through my boxes of assorted computer “stuff” (I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to certain things), on a hunch, and I found an old hard drive that contains most of my old raw video footage – I’ve just hooked it up to see what was on it, and I struck gold.

“Let’s Talk About Jack Nicklaus – Then Do The Complete Opposite!”

Here is something I just fell across today while taking a little jaunt through YouTube.

You will all know our friendly baseball-player-turned-golf-instructor-teaching-a-baseball-swing, by now, so he needs no introduction.

The clip that I came across is the analysis of Jack Nicklaus’ driver swing clip from the 1963 Masters, one I’ve shown you all before.

Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Tom Weiskopf Were All Wrong – Ask This YouTube “Pro”

I’m likely going to have to start paying royalties to Ben Affleck for this picture, because every time I try to even enjoy watching something on YouTube, something invariably comes across my feed to make me react the same way.

This one is a beauty – you literally have to discount just about every great player in professional golf history to be this wrong about something, but hey, it’s the internet, so you know what’s going to happen.
