Remember The Hogan/Trevino Down Swing Bump? You’ve Got It With The Pivot Drill

I’m editing video and have reached the part where the pivot drill shows how to properly transition from the top to the down swing – do you remember my post on how all of the Modern Golf Swing players are trying to replicate the Hogan/Trevino down swing “bump” but can’t?

Well, you’ll have it with the pivot drills I’ve devised to get you swinging with ease – in fact, while watching the down swing “bump” transition in my pivot drills – even while I was shooting that part, as a matter of fact, all I could see in my head was the difference between doing it properly and utterly failing.

Last year, I talked about this, showing Lee Trevino’s move:

… and I compared it to how the modern instructors are teaching the “Squat & Dump” move in an attempt to emulate Hogan’s “bump” move:

… and my astonishment when I realized that this was what Tiger Woods has been trying to figure out his entire career:

… and when I said that it’s impossible for Modern Golf Swing adherents to perform this type of move that Trevino or Hogan performed because you just can’t do it if you’re not in the proper top position:

Well, if you follow the drill sequences to get to the top in a proper position, you should be able to transition in a similar manner (with a stable head, no shifting towards the target), and with relative ease.

The most difficult parts of the golf swing, in my opinion, are 1) Finding the proper setup from which to pivot and 2) getting to the optimal top position.

If you can get there, the 3rd part, the down swing transition, should be a piece of cake.

We’ll see if I’m correct.

The work continues.
