The good thing about being unhappy about the pivot drills video that I had shot, if there is a good thing about it, is that I was able to further simplify them when going over the re-shoot.
Somehow, in the time since I shot the original video, I had kept working on the drills unconsciously so that I have an even simpler way to get the pivot working.
I haven’t hit balls more than a couple of times this year, due to the fact that my Frozen Shoulder symptoms returned during the summer, not anywhere as severe as last year, but with enough discomfort that I just gave up on serious swinging this season and turned my attention to this video.
It has been months in the making, mostly on the pivot drills, from something I had come up with in June and kept refining and innovating until I had what I have now.
I am probably a month or so away from testing the shoulder again – as I said, it isn’t anywhere as severe as before and the difference between even a few weeks ago and now tells me that I should only be weeks away from a full recovery, with any luck.
Once I’m over that hurdle, I am absolutely stoked on getting back to swinging because, even though they are my drills and I’ve been conducting swing research for twenty years, they have actually helped me in perfecting my stance and pivot motion.
I have always said that my best pivots ever, when I barely had completed the MCS Golf Swing model with the Perfect Pivot concept, was back in 2015:
The freedom of motion and the power I generated swinging this way are what I want now.
And now, having completed my research (which is always an “at this time” proposition because if anything ever comes up, I’m back on the case), I have been able to just work on the drills and found that it has brought me back to a pivot action like the one above.
The “No-Turn Pivot” concept combined with the improved back pivot angle have so drastically simplified my own motion that I am eager to see what I can do with my ball-striking once I get back into it.
The work continues.
