I am finally able to sit at the computer without major discomfort, and when I sat down to continue the editing work yesterday, I made a decision that I’ve been turning over in my mind for a while.

I have already contacted the WAX Nation members who took advantage of the advance purchase option and have advised them of the following:

It is after great through and deliberation that, at this time, I have decided that I must do a re-shoot of the MCS Pivot Drills that I was going to present in this upcoming video.

All of the delays notwithstanding, this decision was one that I had to make today when I resumed work on the project after the week-long layoff…

I have been working through what I want to be the best swing video I have yet produced, but the main problem has been that I noticed some things in the original pivot drills video that I can no longer ignore or minimize by saying, “it’s not that big a deal.”

Finally, I have to admit that I am not happy with the video that I shot – the drills, I believe, are still very good from start to finish – it’s the video itself.

Two of the biggest flaws are that I am slightly off-set to the camera in the face-on angles and my stance width is too narrow, much narrower than I would employ in an actual golf swing pivot.  There is a big difference between how one simply stance and the wide of stance one must have in order to swing a club, especially the driver and other longer clubs.

There are a couple of other things bothering me and I simply cannot continue this project in good faith with the video that I have, so I am going to have to re-shoot the pivot drills in a manner I find acceptable.

I have tried to finish the editing and get the video done, but my perfectionist tendencies simply won’t allow me to do it.

Putting a video out when I’m unhappy with the look would drive me crazy – heck, I’ve put out videos that I worked my absolute best on, and was still unhappy with the quality, only to have my members tell me it was the best one yet.

So, yes I am a perfectionist, but this time, I knew fully well that there were concrete issues and it wasn’t just my being neurotic.

I will re-shoot the pivot videos when conditions allow (currently cloudy and raining in these parts) and fortunately, everything else is completed with regards to the narration and associated video and still pics from actual swings.
