With apologies, there’s not much news on the video front this weekend due to a recurrent back injury I sustained the last weekend of August.
I attended two concerts (Mrs. DJ is in the music industry on the management side), one night being a show by a former Iron Maiden band member and, the the other night, the actual Iron Maiden concert.
Between the two straight days of extended periods of standing, walking and a very little jumping (who sits at a concert?), my left sacroiliac joint went out – it’s an unstable joint due to a lifetime of wear and tear playing sports, combined with my congenital scoliosis, and I sometimes have to wear a sac belt to get it back into place.
The ironic part is that while walking and standing haven’t been a problem, I haven’t been able to sit at my computer desk since that weekend without extreme pain. A few minutes in the sitting position and I have had to leave my chair and the work.
Last week’s posting about the delay was about all I could manage the day after the concert, but I didn’t think it would take me out for an entire week.
I said “ironic” because I have hurt my back in any number of ways in my adult life, but never once from swinging a golf club. The record remains intact.
That said, I’m back into the final edit after back-tracking to tweak the first parts regarding the pivot drills, and I have been able to sit at the computer today long enough to compose this post.
I hope to be back on the final editing tomorrow and if so, the video will be available by week’s end. Right now, it’s day to day with anti-inflammatories and the sac belt.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe Labor Day weekend (for the relevant regions).
