My Former Late Hogan Pivot Pt II – DTL View

I have a driver swing shown down the line, again with the Late Hogan Pivot I was performing back in the summer of 2022, and it will look slightly different from this angle when I get new video, I’m predicting.

The differences will probably manifest, from the work I’ve been doing on this model, in a more vertical arm position in the setup and a flatter leading arm plane at the top of the back pivot.

The thing I’ve discovered with this transitional pivot action (still a Classic Golf Swing action but approaching the Shift & Post in the hips on the back pivot) is that it’s very adjustable, but of course, I’m looking for the optimal setup and action.

Even with what I consider the suboptimal arm position in the setup and at the top, I was pounding drives well over 300 yards down the pipe which, at 52 years of age at the time, I’m not going to complain about.

Again, you can see the hallmark of this pivot action in the free and full hip and leg action but with a barely lifting leading heel.

I wasn’t trying to keep the heel down – I don’t try to restrict anything when I swing, I trust in the model to do the work for me – it’s the nature of this pivot that you can have very little to no heel lift without having to restrict the hip turn.

This pivot is more advanced than the traditional Classic Golf Swing model (I hope to get a video of that model out in the near future), but it’s what I would now call the standard MCS Golf Swing model, which is why this pivot action is in the new “The Basics Of The MCS Golf Swing” video.
