I’d Change More Than The Golf Ball – Clubs As Well

Word out that the USGA and also the R&A are proposing to introduce bifurcation to the game, where pros may have to play some events with a distance-limited golf ball.

Players are up in arms, but I don’t see why – if I were competing in golf and had to play a limited-distance ball, I wouldn’t care, because everyone else would have to play the same ball.

Golf.Com Article On Tiger Woods Is A Modern Swing Mish Mash

You all know of my contempt for the concepts of Modern Golf, whether it’s calling a flying leading foot something like “creating vertical lift” or the other silly term “using the ground” as if some players are floating in the air during their swings.

Well, congratulations to Golf.com for a completely undecipherable article that asks how Tiger Woods creates his ball speed and answers, I’m not kidding, “Very Carefully.”

Bryson DeChambeau’s Shockingly Absurd Hot Take On Equipment

As we know, professional golfers are the best in the world at it – even with mechanically-unsound swings, they can repeat shots with near-robotic consistency when they’re on their game, and that’s the way it should be.

You’ve seen me complain every once in a while, in fact, that it’s ridiculous that pros play golf using what I call “training wheels on their bicycles,” namely in playing using the same ultra-forgiving equipment that amateurs use.

No Coincidences – Greg Norman Best Persimmon Driver Ever

When it comes to the Classic Golf Swing, I’ve always used Jack Nicklaus as an example of a near-optimal motion, but there’s someone else who has been overlooked, even though I mention him quite a bit.

That person is Greg Norman, who is considered to be the best ever driver using a persimmon club when you take into account driving distance and accuracy.

Geek 6 Degree Driver – Lift Off

In case you’re wondering how to hit a very low-lofted Driver, there are two keys – the very first is Attack Angle, because without a lot of loft to create backspin lift, you must create the lift yourself.

The second is impact velocity – the ball will be spinning lower than one launched at the same angle as a higher lofted club, so you need impact velocity to get as much spin as you can because of course, spin increases with higher velocity contact.

“Simple & Smart” Golf Swing Breaks Golfer’s Back

It’s amazing how everyone in the Modern Golf Swing industry seems to be unable to analyze golf swings except for results-driven praise or condemnation of said motion.

When is the first or last time you actually heard a golf analyst or instructor say that a certain pro’s golf swing was problematic or an injury risk?

Tom Weiskopf’s Awesome MCS Type Swing

If you’ve never looked closely at the great recently departed Tom Weiskopf’s golf swing, or haven’t in a while, you’ll be very pleased to look at it.

In fact, other than one nit-pick, I would be hard-pressed to find anything in this man’s swing action or setup.

The Modern Golf Swing In Tweets

First off, this is not a personal attack on anyone featured below, whether it be golfer, analyst or instructor. My beef is with the entire industry.

I’ve been seeing a lot of Tweets regarding young Will Zalatoris after his maiden PGA Tour win.

I also got a look at his swing today, because as you all know, I almost never watch Tour golf on the television anymore due to heartburn and mental health hazards.
