I just saw a mind-boggling stat comparison between Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods that, for me, ends the debate of who is the G.O.A.T.
I’m not saying who is anyone’s favorite, or who is the most exciting player of all time – I am talking simple career stats comparisons in professional tournament performances.

It boggles my mind that Jason Zuback, in the early 2000’s, was around 200 mph in ball speed (Ryan Winther now holds the official record in ball speed at around 227 mph and an unofficial mark of 237 mph).
*Edit – as of today, the current world record holder in ball speed is Sebastian Twaddell, Golf Ball Speed Record Holder 2025 – 246.8 mph (Trackman).
That’s because I have actually gotten into the mid-190’s in my 40’s without having to live in the gym because of technique over muscle power, but one thing I can tell you – the clip below puts the Modern Golf Swing industry to shame.
The old-timers here will know very well of my forays into studying left and right-dominant swinging – it came about because I discovered back in 2022 that I was swinging left-dominant, and how it had caused several problems with consistency.
They’ll all remember as well my trip down the right-dominant rabbit hole, looking at Mike Dunaway’s swing model, which is the most powerful swing I’ve ever seen, mechanically.
I was sent a couple of swings of a young amateur golfer Down Under, and his dad tells me that he played a young lad 9-10 years ago, stopped playing and resumed the game about a year ago.
I have to confirm his exact age, but he’s obviously mid-to-late teens, and I love this swing action. It’s obviously a Classic Golf Swing, or you wouldn’t be seeing it.
This video has over 300K views, so I’m sure there are a lot of confused golfers out there wondering why they’re blocking their ball dead right, banana-slicing it across three different fairways or pulling it clear out of the golf course.
Let me put this out there right now – I have played baseball, and I have played golf, and I struggled for so many years trying to swing a golf club properly because I had played baseball first.
One thing I have noticed with the Modern Golf Swing crowd is that they are either incredibly disingenuous when discussing proper swing fundamentals or incredibly dense.
I don’t believe so many people can be this stupid, so I have to conclude that there is a great deal of dishonesty required to be a Modern Golf Swing proponent.
We may be approaching Peak Internet with regards to idiotic golf “instruction,” and I really feel for innocent dupes of these charlatans if we’re not.
I feel it’s too harsh to blame people who follow them and go on to injure themselves, but really, did you ever find anything of worth online that you got absolutely free?
You get what you paid for, usually – I give out free advice but it’s mostly limited to telling people what not to do, given the current state of golf instruction.
The video clip I just watched should be titled “How to complicate a golf swing beyond belief and ensure years of expensive lessons,” because that’s all I can see in it.
I know that everyone thinks that this is the way Ben Hogan swung, but once again, no one pays attention to what he was doing, and so you get people who have no business being golf swing instructors because what they’re teaching is ridiculous and harmful.
It’s a pity Tom Weiskopf didn’t win more majors than the one U.S. Open that he bagged, because his golf swing has to be one of my top 5 to watch.
It was powerful and athletic, so mechanically-correct – and if you want to know how powerful, Jack Nicklaus said that the only golfer who could consistently out-drive him was Weiskopf.
Sometimes, when I want to torture myself (because I really hate looking at swings and swing models that aren’t optimal), I will go back and look at how I was swinging in the early years of my swing research, and today I decided to go back to 2011.
It was the year after my first MCS swing video and I was working on the second one that I would release the following winter (MCS 2.0), and while the swing was mechanically-correct, there were some issues good and bad that I’d like to point out.
