I Think Double-Crossed Swinging Is A Huge Factor Even For Right-Handers

I’m referring of course to the right-handed golf swing, so lefties swinging lefty would be the same thing here if you are left-handed and swing left.

But in the land of hockey, there are so many more right-handed Canadians who play golf left-handed than the average nation.

My SC300i Is “Meh,” But I Can Still Gather Data… (Updated)

I got back out to the lab today and the biggest takeaway I have from the session, which I’ll remember to reiterate when discussing my data collection, is that the SC300i portable launch monitor is not really working to my satisfaction.

Other than the ball speed, which I would assume is accurate because it uses Doppler radar, I don’t believe any of the other data is reliable, however I know how far the yardage is off (and it seems pretty consistent).

Natural Leverage – So Much More Effective Than Muscle

I’ve compared the leverage of a proper golf swing in years past to that of a judo throw – you can throw someone bigger and heavier than yourself to the ground with relative ease if you know how to leverage the move.

In the same vein, I can affirm that, just as with a judo throw, you can be much more effective swinging your golf club with natural leverage than with brute muscle force.

Light Club Swing Should = Heavy Club Swing

I’ve said that the scourge of Modern Golf Swing instruction and practice is that people who have no business injuring themselves swinging feather-weight clubs in the modern age are doing so.

I mean, how do you hurt yourself swinging today’s driver?

Ben Hogan’s Pivot – You Can Smash It

The irony of Ben Hogan’s pivot action is that it is a virtually perfect pivot action if you’re looking to use the hips and legs to power the golf swing and provide the shoulder turn requisite to generate leverage.

Why is that ironic?

Because, for several reasons completely unrelated to his pivot action.

Hogan wasn’t known to be a long hitter and we know:

How To Complicate A Golf Swing

I’ve finally figured out what it is that has certain swingers jumping off of their leading foot through impact.

I know, I’ve already said it has to do with them not shifting their weight to the leading foot on the down swing, but there’s more at play here than just that one thing.

If you asked me what the issue is in a nutshell, I’d say, “Let’s go for a spin.”

2015 – When The MCS Classic Golf Swing Was Born

I have dug up a couple of driver swings from May of 2015, which was the first year of the MCS Classic Golf Swing model as it is today (with one change from 2015).

In the summer of 2014 I had begun my “Ben Hogan Project,” which gave me so much insight into Hogan’s true pivot action (not the one presented on television and in print or online from clueless pundits) that I implemented it into my model orthodoxy.

Driving The Ball 350 Yards With My Left Arm

You may ask me why I have fought so hard to fix my left-dominant right-handed golf swing if I could drive the ball 350 yards and beyond doing it that way.

In a word, because I hate disasters.

Are You Swinging Leading Arm-Dominant?

Moving on from the discussion of what swinging with the leading arm dominant actually means – what problems can arise when swinging with the left arm in a right-handed swing?

And more importantly, are you a non-cross person yet suspect you’re swinging with the wrong arm dominant?

Cross-Dominance In A Golf Swing

One of the reasons I’m excited about my swing research this season is that I am confident (until proof either way) that I’ve solved my cross-dominance issue.

In fact, I am fairly certain (because I’ve always been cross-dominant) that I’ve actually never performed a proper golf swing, mechanically.
