You Can Blame Tiger Woods (Or His Coach) For the “Squat & Dump” Move (Updated)

Update: Since posting this, I have uncovered evidence that takes the Tiger Squat back to his Sean Foley days, and it has just gotten worse and worse over time. /update

I have been wracking my brain for the past few days, trying to think of where the Squat & Dump move came from.

I have seen the Tiger Woods Tai-Chi routine, of course, but it wasn’t until I went looking for some old Tiger Woods swings that I found it – and yes, you can lay the blame on this horrific move on him and his coach at the time.

This Probably Won’t Age Well – Scottie Scheffler Says “Pinch” Was “No Big Deal.”

You can probably file this away under “Famous Quotes Before Disaster,” because this type of attitude leads to tragic endings.

Scottie Scheffler actually laughed off the incident where he clearly experienced pain in the aftermath of a “what was that?” swing off the 11th tee last Friday.

John Daly Demonstrates How To Be Absolutely WRONG With Great Confidence (Jack vs Tiger)

I love John Daly, but what a whopping take he had on the Tiger Woods vs Jack Nicklaus debate.

Again, even such a great player as Daly demonstrates the woeful lack of knowledge of golf history that abounds today.

A Tiger Woods Clip Shows The Problem With Modern Golf – Internet Know-Nothings

I just came out of a Tiger Woods YouTube clip from 2020, and man am I depressed by the state of golf today.

I have wondered for a while what is wrong with Modern Golf, and I said recently in a comment that the proliferation of the internet in the 90’s was part of the problem.

Kyle Berkshire Nails The MCS Setup Theory

I haven’t invented anything with my work on the MCS Golf Swing models over the years – I spent the first part of my research looking only at the greatest swingers ever and compiling a list of things they did in common.

The first thing of course, was seeing that every great player in history when you talk of the absolute greatest swingers, used the Classic Golf Swing.

I Said It For Years About Tiger Woods, Now Jack Has Said It

Anyone who watched Tiger Woods dominate golf from 1997-2008 would know that it’s a very uncontroversial take to say that he could have and should have surpassed Jack Nicklaus’ 18 major titles, and easily.

I’ve said for years that Tiger probably should have won 25 majors due to his dominance, his talent, physical gifts and dedication to his craft

Tiger Woods – This Is The End

I haven’t posted anything recently because I’ve been at work on the “model for everyone.”

Meaning, I am working on the setup that allows one to swing with whichever arm they feel dominant, or both, for those who don’t feel they are using one arm over the other.

Re-Post About Jack Nicklaus vs Tiger Woods Eras

Back in June 2013, I posted the following on my old blog DJ Watts Golf (I’ve edited it slightly due to its age) about the ever-raging debate about who was greater, Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods:

Someone finally had the wherewithal to do some number-crunching to put to rest the old canard that even if he never wins 18 majors, Tiger Woods is still better than Jack Nicklaus because Tiger won his majors against “better players” and “deeper fields.”

Tiger Woods Isn’t Supernatural – I JUST Posted About No-Divot Ball-Striking

It never ceases to amaze me how the modern media do backflips over anything a modern player does, as if today’s best player is the greatest ever.

Here’s yet another point, where Tiger Woods apparently is a god because when he was at his best, he didn’t take divots with his irons.

Jack Nicklaus’ Head Cock & Dunaway’s Head Shift

While working out the model I’ve been building of late, I fell across something that may have solved my issue of “head shift on the back swing or into the down swing, head shift at all or none” that has been on my mind.

First, does anyone remember how Jack Nicklaus used to get over the ball and, just before he began his backswing, he’d tilt his head to a certain spot and then swing?
