The Most Ridiculous Release Concept You’ll Ever See

I literally just posted a while back on how leverage and gravity provide the elements for the release of the club at the swing bottom, only to run into this clip yesterday whilst scrolling through YouTube.

I have no idea what this concept is trying to say or do, because absolutely no one in golf, even the worst of the Modern Golf Swing practitioners, does this – I suspect it’s about keeping the click count going when having run out of things to say, but people watch these things, which is harmful.

How Fast Does The Swing Occur?

I have taken a real-speed driver swing of mine back in 2015 when I was swinging regularly and in much better shape than I am currently, to illustrate something with regards to piece-work swinging.

You’ll notice that, when you watch Modern Golf Swing instruction, you will get someone spending five minutes on describing in minute detail all of the various moves you must make for the down swing from the transition to the post-impact finish.

Ten Years On – My Best Day With The Driver

I have so many thousands of swing clips that I’ve compiled over the years between 2007-2022 that it is sometimes surprising to look back on the various models I’ve worked on.

It is beyond doubt to me, however, that my favorite ever driver swings to watch face-on are from May 15, 2015 – I hardly ever swung exactly the same way from day to day, as I was conducting swing research, but that day stands out to me as the day I nailed it.

MCS Gold – Archive Swings Exactly How I Would Swing Today

I’ve been searching through my fairly large swing archive from between 2015-2022 and have found some archived swings from 2022 that are pretty much how I would be telling people to swing with the MCS Golf Swing model.

The years of 2023-25 consisted mostly of my investigating just about every variation of the swing with regards to grip, stance and mechanics, but as I have said, I basically had the MCS swing model figured out by 2015 and, aside from my personal journey to swing like this model, there has been very little change in said model over the years.

Why No One Can Swing Like Ben Hogan

There is no one out there, no matter what they tell you, who swings like Ben Hogan.

There is an entire cottage industry built around “swing like Ben Hogan,” and every one of the claims is either an outright fraud or a complete misunderstanding of how the man swung.

Modern Golf Swingers – It’s Not That Fracking Hard…

It is absolutely unbelievable to me what I was seeing on YouTube before I took that week off blogging just to keep my sanity, and I’ve wondered before if we’re all just living in a really stupid simulation.

“Let’s just take all thought, reason and intelligence out of the golf swing world and see what happens…”

IF I WERE To Swing With A Left-Biased Pivot…

There is something to be said about having a background in diverse athletic pursuits – I played everything from footy (soccer) to baseball to hockey to basketball to competing in track & field, all between the ages of 7 to 23 before swinging a golf club for the first time at age 25.

During that time, I obviously acquired something of an instinct for self-preservation, shall we say, or avoiding injury through proper technique and the drilling of such.

The Left Arm Leverage Drop – Down The Line

I forgot to mention in yesterday’s post that John Daly used this left arm swing drill before playing every round when he was on Tour.

He wasn’t the type to warm up hitting dozens of balls with different clubs – he would get the feel of his swing for the day hitting a few wedges swinging left-arm only, and then head for the 1st tee.

Effortless Leverage & The Gravity Drop

I’ve written quite a bit recently about the ills of the new “Turn & Swipe” memes that have been appearing in golf swing videos, and here is the problem when you compare that nonsense to the proper mechanical action of the Classic Golf Swing.

Below, I’ve created some gifs to show the difference and, in essence, how easy it is to generate leverage and also use gravity when swinging with the pivot action of the Classic Golf Swing, using only my left arm.

“The Kinesiology of The MCS Golf Swing” Uses “The Perfect Pivot” With “The Kinetic Chain” To “Drop The Hammer” With “Ultimate Leverage”… The Formula Is “E = MCS”

Saturday musings – quite a mouthful, but all I’ve done in the title is use the titles of previous MCS Golf Swing videos post-2014.

The themes contained within the titles are still relevant, I might add – in fact, ever more so, and I’ll explain.
