Flashback – 187 MPH Ball Speed Using Ben Hogan’s Pivot Action (Jack Nicklaus Setup)

First, thanks to everyone who has purchased a download of the “MCS – The Short Game” video – I appreciate your supporting the blog!

I have mentioned several times that Ben Hogan’s pivot is what I consider the “Perfect Pivot” action and I can attest personally to this.

The highest ball speed I can personally say I achieved with a regular golf club (I have hit over 190 mph ball speed but with a long drive club and long drive swing action), was with two things related to Ben Hogan, actually!

Watch The MCS Lob Shot – Shaft Plane

I have been focused so much on the full swing that I have neglected to illustrate how, in addition to starting your MCS Golf Swing journey with the short game (or adding to what you’ve learned already in one of the full swing videos), the mechanics that you implement for it will only strengthen the full swing.

I was re-watching some of the swings from my MCS Short Game video when something caught my eye on one of the lob shots, because the camera was set up at the perfect angle to catch my down the line shaft plane.

The Short Game Is The Starting Point For MCS Swinging

I never really contemplated it before, because when I released the “MCS – Short Game” video back in 2016, I had already produced and released several MCS Golf Swing video.

Re-watching “Short Game” however and receiving feedback from recent viewers, I was struck by the realization that it is the starting point for learning and performing the MCS swing motion.

The “MCS – Short Game” Video Is Now Available Again!

I’ve had several inquiries about both the MCS Golf Swing video (which I’m currently working to complete for November) as well as the availability of any MCS video on the short game.

I had removed all of my videos because I felt they were dated, but I have just re-watched the MCS Short Game video that I released in 2016 and, to be honest, there isn’t anything I’d change about the short game from then.

I’m Going To Be On A Podcast With Josh Karp!

One of the things I mentioned that had me having to put my video project aside is that I was contacted by journalist, writer and producer Josh Karp last month, and he inquired if I’d like to participate in a golf podcast pilot to discuss World Golf Hall of Famer Tom Weiskopf.

Josh is a writer who has written several books, one about golf called “Straight Down The Middle.”

Both Are True – Nicklaus Had The Best Swing, Hogan Had The Best Pivot

It seems a contradiction to say, but both of the following are true:

  • Jack Nicklaus had the best swing ever in golf,
  • Ben Hogan had the best pivot ever in golf.

If you wonder how they can both be true, here’s how it is – if you asked me, which of Jack’s or Hogan’s swings I would use if I had to replicate them exactly (or try to), I would pick Nicklaus, hands down.

MCS Video In November – And The Pivot Has Never Been Easier

I’m reaching the end of working on side issues that have delayed my completion of the upcoming MCS Golf Swing video, so I can confidently say that the video will completed and available next month.

Exactly when next month, I cannot promise, unfortunately – I just know that, unless something unanticipated arises, I’ll have the time to complete the reviewing and compilation of material from the previous videos and my swing archive and get this project done.

Matt McCarty – Lefty Classic Golf Swinger On The PGA Tour

I’ve never heard of this player, even though he he’s defending his title this weekend on the PGA Tour, but Mr. McJohn suggested I have a look at this lefty Classic Golf Swinger – so I did.

Sure enough, a good-looking Classic Golf Swing there, with load of power, and there’s only one thing in his swing that gives me a little pause watching him.

Golf Digest Unknowingly Scores On Its Own Goal

You will all know by now my repeating the phrase, “only in golf,” or “all other sports,” perhaps ad nauseam, when comparing golf (negatively) to other sports.

It is not a mark of distinction to be held apart from the others – in life, we call someone like that a black sheep or outcast, or any other such uncomplimentary terms.

Nelly Korda Suffers From Neck Issues. I’m Shocked.

Nelly Korda is currently ranked 2nd on the Rolex World Rankings and has spent a considerable time at No. 1.

I didn’t know much about her except for the Korda name as she turned pro around the time I stopped watching televised golf much, so I decided to check her out after reading a headline about her withdrawal from an event with an injury two weeks ago.
