I have talked about the no-turn down swing for a while, but let’s take a look at it from the down the line perspective.
When I say that there is no turn in the down swing until momentum of the arms and club pull you around, I mean precisely that.
I have paused the down swing in the slo-mo just past impact, a fraction of a second before my right arm reaches full extension, and you can see that at that point, my shoulders are still pretty square to the target line.
Take a look:
My head is still facing the ball, the hips have opened because of the weight transfer into the leading foot:
… but as you can see clearly in the swing gif., it is the momentum of the club as my right reaches full extension that pulls me around into the finish.
So, how to do this, when you don’t know how to, and you’ve been told for years by the Modern Golf instruction that you must turn and swipe?
Not a problem – the progressive pivot exercises I’ve devised explain that, and I will show how, if you aren’t holding a club, there’s nothing to pull you around at the swing bottom, and will even show how the arms move back inside the swing arc without one having to turn.
It’s all simple kinesiology, and I have no idea how Modern Golf has gone so far off the rails that it’s running along beside them.
Fortunately for all of us, the Classic Golf Swing is the way to swing, and the MCS Golf Swing model is, until I can find prove otherwise, is the optimal way to swing Classically!

Yes! I notice this when I do my best shots. My body does not turn until what feels like the end of the swing. There is no turn in the downswing
You’re doing the right thing if that’s what you feel, AK. ✅
And no, there is not! 👍🏼
