“That’s How You Turn Your Hips” OMG – More Turn & Swipe Tripe

They are teaching absolute nonsense, and I nearly choked on my tongue when, at the beginning of the below clip, the student performed a “Turn & Swipe” motion with his head moving laterally (a big sway and turn and swipe), to have the “instructor” (I use this term far too loosely) say, that’s how you turn your hips!”

Oh, do tell, instructor!

You turn your hips by swaying to the target rather than sliding to the target (both being garbage mechanics)?

I told you all a while ago that it seems everyone is just copying Tiger Woods’ swing mechanics, but ironically, the current mechanics of a man who can no longer make anything close to a proper swing because of his back and leg injuries.

It’s either that, the “Squat & Dump” that Tiger does, or this idiotic “Turn & Swipe” concept.

Not only that, this “instructor” should be sued for malpractice teaching what he teaches and calling it a golf swing.

The clips is ironically titled, “If you don’t know how to rotate,” when it’s the “instructor” who doesn’t know how to rotate.

He throws in some pseudo-kinesiology, talking about “internal rotation” vs “external rotation,” but if he really knew anything about kinesiology, he wouldn’t be teaching the nonsense he’s teaching.

I can’t be kind or nice about this – it is awful, garbage mechanics.

This is not “how you turn your hips,” my friends – the hips will turn all by themselves without one having to do anything whatsoever than performing a proper back pivot.

Like this:

Again, Hogan’s head shift wasn’t optimal and I don’t recommend it, but where do you see him doing anything in that clip, with regards to swaying until his head is over his leading foot, hyperextending his leading leg or turning and swiping with his trailing foot nailed down?

Yet, his hips turned the minute he replanted his leading heel and transferred the weight!

Hogan did the exact opposite of what that fellow is teaching.

I’m with Hogan on this:

The hips turn naturally with the replanting of the leading heel and the transfer of weight, combined with the release of the trailing foot once the hips turn far enough to drag it along.

And guess what?  The hips do “slide,” if you will, “shift” if you prefer, with a proper pivot and down swing:

Watch The Yellow Hip Line

What this other fellow is teaching, in reality, is how to sway to the target and turn into his leading leg, but then one has to do extra to get the hip turn – by hyperextending his leading leg and pushing off his anchored trailing leg:

… because the hips can’t turn with the trailing foot nailed down.

His hips are moving away from the target, not towards it!

It’s a move, I will readily admit, but it’s a move that has nothing to do with a proper golf swing.

In fact, it’s not even correct when he spouts the mumbo-jumbo about sliding the hips:

… whether you have your leading foot flared or square it, you can still slide to the target with the hips, so he’s either lying or clueless when he says you can’t slide laterally with the leading foot squared.

Try it yourself, instead of swallowing it hook, line and sinker – you’ll see.

Absolutely shocking material for a channel that has so many followers.
