If you don’t notice much posting in the next couple of weeks, that’s just because I’m working on the upcoming MCS – The New Perfect Pivot golf swing video.
I’m calling it The New Perfect Pivot because I had already released a video titled “MCS – The Perfect Pivot” video back in 2016, but in that video, I was showcasing the still-great pivot action that Ben Hogan was using before his near-fatal wreck.
I have taken a swing of mine with the driver viewed from the rear aspect to illustrate my point about Ben Hogan’s later pivot being powerful even with a very low heel leading heel lift.
Because of the particular mechanical action of the hips and legs, you don’t get the high heel lift of, say Jack Nicklaus, but there is still a full hip turn and loads of leverage in the down swing action.
Putting is pretty straight-forward if you’ve played golf for any amount of time, but other than this facet of the short game, what’s yours?
Mine are the bunker shot and coming in second, the lob shot, probably (unsurprisingly) because they both use something close to if not the full swing motion.

I have mentioned several times that Ben Hogan’s pivot is what I consider the “Perfect Pivot” action and I can attest personally to this.
The highest ball speed I can personally say I achieved with a regular golf club (I have hit over 190 mph ball speed but with a long drive club and long drive swing action), was with two things related to Ben Hogan, actually!
I’ve had several inquiries about both the MCS Golf Swing video (which I’m currently working to complete for November) as well as the availability of any MCS video on the short game.
I had removed all of my videos because I felt they were dated, but I have just re-watched the MCS Short Game video that I released in 2016 and, to be honest, there isn’t anything I’d change about the short game from then.
I’m reaching the end of working on side issues that have delayed my completion of the upcoming MCS Golf Swing video, so I can confidently say that the video will completed and available next month.
Exactly when next month, I cannot promise, unfortunately – I just know that, unless something unanticipated arises, I’ll have the time to complete the reviewing and compilation of material from the previous videos and my swing archive and get this project done.
This will likely be the major theme of the upcoming MCS Golf Swing video.
We all know that there are many different ways to swing a golf club, from the optimal motion to everything in between that and “dead wrong.”
Unfortunately for the golfing world at this moment, the Modern Golf Swing with the traditional lower back twist and restricted hip turn is “dead wrong.”

Both Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan had a setup that was considered “the same for all clubs,” and that is the way you want to swing as well.
I’ve been saying forever now that you want to setup more like Nicklaus did (I don’t think he invented the setup, but as the G.O.A.T., we’ll just call it the “Nicklaus” setup), and that you want Hogan’s pivot action.
There is an advantage to being cross-dominant as I am, I suppose, when it comes to figuring out the “feels” for swinging either left or right-dominant, but it took me a while to realize it.
I have actually been doing it unconsciously for some time, but now that it has hit me, I’ve been working on how to best describe the feeling for both dominants in my upcoming video and, of course, the neutral swingers will feel both of them, as they aren’t thinking of one arm over the other.
I’ve been searching through my fairly large swing archive from between 2015-2022 and have found some archived swings from 2022 that are pretty much how I would be telling people to swing with the MCS Golf Swing model.
The years of 2023-25 consisted mostly of my investigating just about every variation of the swing with regards to grip, stance and mechanics, but as I have said, I basically had the MCS swing model figured out by 2015 and, aside from my personal journey to swing like this model, there has been very little change in said model over the years.
