The format of my new video is rounding into form, and it is going to be as simple and basic as I can think of, because the golf swing has been twisted and complicated beyond belief by the Modern Golf Swing industry.

The entire premise of the video will be predicated upon two points comprising the optimal golf swing (as I see it, and have seen no evidence to disprove it).

These two points are that you can build a golf swing model using

1. The MCS setup, which hews very closely if not exactly to Jack Nicklaus’ theoretical optimal setup as he described it himself:

… and

2. The last iteration of Ben Hogan’s “Perfect Pivot” action.

I am trying to lay it out as simply as possible (a more extensive omnibus on the MCS Golf Swing should be in the works for 2026), with video of my own swings using the MCS setup and the Hogan “Perfect Pivot” action and the following concepts:

  • That the golf swing is, or should be, a vertical swing motion, not a lateral one (like baseballs or cricket swings),
  • The Fixed Fulcrum (the point from which the entire swing rotates or turns),
  • The best setup is a neutral setup, not biased to either side, with regards to weight distribution at address,
  • The particulars of building the setup which include stance width, posture, hip and leg positions before beginning the pivot, the grip and ball positions,
  • The concept of the “Perfect Pivot” action, from address to the top of the back swing,
  • The Down Swing transition and action to the Swing Bottom:

  • The release of the trailing foot through the impact and follow-through phase and finally,
  • The balanced finish position on the leading foot.

As you can all see, even this most basic of presentations contains quite a bit of info, and the struggle for me has been to try to use historical video excerpts of previous videos without cutting essential things out or making it over-long.

I’m getting near the finish line however, and should have a idea on the release date soon, but am hoping for sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks to everyone who has supported the effort, and my apologies for having taken so long to get this out – the problem for me is that, when I have made a new video, I have shot a complete tutorial on video, which is much easier than winnowing out a new video from previous materials.

The work continues!
