I will be releasing a golf swing video this summer, hopefully by late June but no later than July if all goes well with the shooting and production.
I don’t currently have any brand new swings to show to illustrate the MCS Golf Swing (of the Classic Golf Swing type) model as it will look exactly, due to weather and the late openings of the facilities in my area, but I have found some swings from 2015 that are nearly identical to what you’ll see.
I have written quite a bit about my swing as it stood back in 2015, which was the last year I really got to work on my own swing and before I began working with others and traveling, which was great for others but really interfered with the research.
However, after years of additional work and research (and swing modeling), this swing model below is the one, with a couple of personal idiosyncrasies which I will have removed.
Call it “The Prototype”
There are a few things that are in this swing that I will have removed:
- The grip won’t be as strong as the one I was using,
- This was a swing where I was performing it left-dominant and,
- I had an angled foot line (optional for those who want it), but the standard model won’t have that.
Other than those above points, take them out and what remains is the swing model, built back in 2015 with my studies of Jack Nicklaus’ and Ben Hogan’s swings.
The setup will look virtually the same, aside from the grip strength:
… and I have never swung the club with as much speed and power as when I swung this way.
The lag on the down swing and the leverage line at impact:
… are all naturally created by the setup and the pivot action. Absolutely nothing manipulated here.
I have looked at years of my swings from 2014-24 and, when I looked at the swings from the spring of 2015, every time, I said to myself, “that’s it right there.”
My own swing went away from this as I explored everything about the swing using myself as the model, but if you took the “E = MCS” swing video from 2017 and paired it with this adjusted model, there are probably only a couple of things from that video that I would change.
That is the nature of investigation – sometimes, you pass right over that which you are seeking and might even miss it as you double back, but if you remain persistent and focused on what you’re searching for – you’ll find it.
I am still working on another swing model based on Mike Dunaway’s mechanics, but that project is still on the boil.
The standard Classic Golf Swing version of the MCS Golf Swing however, in its optimal form, will be ready this season.
More to come!
