The Basics Of The MCS Golf Swing Video – Now Available! (Links Fixed)

Well, we’re finally here, WAX Nation – the new “Basics Of The MCS Golf Swing” video is now available for download!

I was able to cut and slash the instructional material to within a half hour’s length – it is very short but very concise, with everything you need laid out in basic instructional form.  It is, in essence, whatever I would have presented in another era, but without all of the extraneous side-bars and repetition.

In another era, this same material would have taken an hour to present in a video, and by then, most people’s attentions have wandered – just the facts, ma’am, just the facts

I had said that you should be able to teach the golf swing to a ten-year old, because every child who takes up and learns a sport doesn’t have a PhD in Kinesiology, physics or other such education.

For those wishing a more in-depth look at the MCS Golf Swing, with more technical explanations and insights, I will be getting on that project as soon as my Frozen Shoulder Syndrome has cleared up (I feel about 90% of the way there), because I want to use new swing footage rather than archival video.

Apologies to all for the delays, but it’s finally done, and as I’ve said, the section on the Jack Nicklaus grip and the Ben Hogan “Perfect Pivot” action alone are worth the price of admission.

That is less than or about what you’d be paying a modern PGA instructor for an hour’s lesson, which honestly would leave you worse off than before you’d taken the lesson.

For ease of downloading, especially to portable devices, I’ve formatted the video in HD and have it under 1Gb in file size.

This is 20 years of swing research distilled to one half hour.

I’ve broken it down into short and basic sections:

  • The Impact Principles
  • The Grip
  • The Ball Positions
  • Address – The Setup
  • The Hogan Pivot Action
  • Practice Swings
  • The Actual Swing
  • Pre-Shot Routine

Started learnings golf a few months ago and my research led me to your blog.

The concepts resonated from the get go, as 29yo with an athletic history but a really really bad lower back (my inability to play other sports is what got me started in golf in the first place).

I had been waiting for this video since maybe December or January, and watched it last night as soon as I realized it was available. I really liked it and appreciate your efforts to make it concise and to the point, as I know I’ll watch more than a few times in the near future.

Fast forward to today, I am looking up Masters tee times and grouping and 60yo Jose Maria Olazabal (I’m new to golf so hadn’t heard of him before), who is currently making the cut, caught my eye. How could someone of that age be outperforming half of the field including some well known names?

So I decided to lookup “Olazabal golf swing” on Google and the first video that appeared was this one

from 2012 (he would have been roughly 48yo at the time).

Look and behold, if it is not the MCS Golf Swing!

First of all, thanks for supporting the blog, lzv – much appreciated!

Second, WOW, that is a pivot, isn’t it? He’s even got the trailing foot release on the finish!

Nearly if not identical to the way I described how to pivot in the video… great stuff! I remember watching JMO win the ‘99 Masters.

With a swing action like that, it’s easy to see why he’s a two-time Green Jacket winner.

By all means, watch the video (especially the pivot section) as much as you want – the more you practice the pivot, the easier it will get until it’s unconscious.

Wishing you a great golf weekend. 😊
