I have been going through the raw video footage from past projects which I discovered on an old hard drive packed away in my storage, and found yet another gem that I would definitely have included if I had shot a brand new video last summer.
As you all know, the only reason I didn’t was because I developed a mysterious and chronic pain in my left shoulder around March (I wasn’t even swinging at the time), which I discovered when I went to swing my training aid after a couple or few days off.
I have been trying to let it recover by itself and some days it’s better than other, but still not well enough to swing again.
I will likely seek my doctor’s assistance over the winter in diagnosing exactly what the problem is, whether it is damaged or just arthritic, but I am pretty confident that my old raw footage is going to do the trick.
For example, I was very disappointed not to have been able to shoot video swinging one-handed, although I had been able to demonstrate the left arm gravity drop action in a gif. from video shot years ago:
However, here is some video I’ve unearthed which will allow me to demonstrate both the left and right arm swing motions and why the proper grip is important:
From “MCS – Perfect Pivot”
You’ll notice that on even just a practice swing without actually striking the ball, I have returned the club to the ball with a perfectly square face, and how the motion is what I have called the “One Major Move,” back in the “E = MCS” video.
This action is performed, as you can see, with Ben Hogan’s “Perfect Pivot” action which I was able to do without any hint of heel lift – note, you can only do this one-handed, because the minute you involve the left hand and arm, there will be a slight heel lift.
That’s neither here or there – just excited about how this found footage will help me explain and illustrate multiple things, from the grip, the fixed swing point, the leverage drop… an so on!
Back to work.
More to come.

Good luck with the injury to your shoulder
Thank you, good sir.
