Until I have new outdoor video this spring, these long iron swings from when I was shooting the “E = MCS” swing video are as good as any that I have in my archives.
There really is nothing wrong with the setup nor the mechanical action, it’s just that pesky right hand grip I was using because I was swinging left-dominant at the time.
So, there’s nothing wrong with these swings other than that I don’t like them, due to the right hand grip (un-optimal).
The commentary was supplied by my good friend The Welshman, who was helping out with the shoot.
I remember recent internet discussion on how a certain PGA Tour player was performing magic due to his very shallow iron divots, but there’s no magic to it at all if you build this into your setup.
The secret – how to set your iron shaft angle during the setup, and when you do that, you can virtually pick the ball clean, especially with the long irons.
I’m starting to post more content on YouTube and Instagram, but the real fun will begin when I have new up to date swing clips to share.
