I apologize to everyone who’s been awaiting the new MCS Golf Swing video – work is progressing and I think I’ll have a finished product in the next few days, but it’s been an arduous process trying to distill everything to its simplest form.

I don’t think the golf swing is that complicated a motion, after twenty years of swing research and analysis – the issue for me is trying to find a balance between too simple (not enough information) and overlong and complicated – it may just seem simple after twenty years, which is the hazard I’m trying to avoid.

Editing already-created video from a different era is maddening – and it is certainly a different era, as my last video project was 7 long years ago!

I would find a section here, and then because I have refined and revised the setup and mechanics, there might be a phrase uttered or a motion made in what I thought was a great clip, and it goes into the scrap pile as I look for another.

Meanwhile, My Emails

I actually switched tracks a few days back – I decided to map out exactly what I would say today in front of a camera, and wrote a script of sorts that would play a voice-over a good deal of the video with the video clips I’ve whittled out of the bunch.

And keeping it simple – I found in re-watching my videos that I tended to drone on instead of just getting to the point, so here’s kind of what it’s been like:

So, I am still plugging away at it whilst life and family matters force me to step away from the process – but I’m re-doubling the effort to get it out shortly.

The work continues, and I may be quiet on the blog, but I do try to take the time point out a video clip or bit of instruction while I work on the video, to avoid having the blog fall completely silent.
