Will It Be Bryson Or Rory Today?

It’s very likely that the winner today will come from the last grouping with Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau topping the leaderboard.

I would say that I’ve posted about this duo more than any other active golfers besides Tiger Woods in recent years, so it’s a WAX Golf special, this last group.

I don’t make predictions, but Scottie Scheffler seems to far back to make a real play unless both the aforementioned happen to wobble, which is far from unlikely in this venue.

Rory?

Aside from that, if either stumble and Scottie has a scintillating final round, who knows?

Personally, I am rooting for Rory Mack, as I have always done since he turned pro (he and Jason Day were my favorites when I still watched golf every week).

Bryson?

All I can predict is that there should be some long balls off the tee in the leaders’ group.

Other than that, I’ll say what I always say when people are placing odds on the potential winners – favored or not, you’ve still gotta play the game to find out.

Scottie?

      Followed by a terrific bunker shot from a plugged lie by Bryson. They could halve this hole if Rory doesn’t sink the birdie.

      … and he doesn’t. Bryson pots the par, great scrambling from the front runners.

    A little nervy tee shot there on 10th for Rory. Anyone else remember 2011 when it all fell apart for a much younger McIlroy, on his 10th hole tee shot?

    14 years later, will he seal the deal for the career major slam?

    Great final round from Justin Rose, a very worthy champion if Rory doesn’t bring it home.

    Rory misses a very makeable putt on 16, two holes remaining. A playoff looking very possible at the moment.

    Absolutely no scarier a sight in pro golf than Rory with a wedge in his hands, unfortunately. Just killed him today.
