No, It’s B+ For Setup & F For Execution (Further Analysis)

Friday was very instructive, as it finally gave me the insight on how I was failing on the setup for my swing model in Friday’s session.

That said, as I mentioned that I had made an adjustment on the leading wrist which I didn’t get on video for either irons or Driver, I don’t know for sure if I had actually nailed it at the end, because I have nothing at which to look.

Swings Video From Yesterday – Very Close

Having gone over my swings from yesterday, I have looked over the setup which was exactly what I wanted to see, but for the left wrist set at address that I performed after the video shooting was finished.

As I said, the results were even better with both irons and Driver when I made that change idly while hitting my last balls with irons – and that’s the nature of discovery, in that rather than profound genius, one can make it with a casual, “what if I do this with my leading wrist on my irons, as it feels a little better in the setup?”

Today – MCS Went Beast Mode

So, I made the setup adjustments that I felt were required to get across the finish line, and I may actually have had it, but by the time I got there, I’d already packed away the video equipment.

I put some more “drop” into my “Drop & Pop” as well, because when I pulled some shots left, I figured that I was swinging too circularly and not dropping on that transition.

Still Too Much Rotation – Setup Not Pivot

I know I said that I would post video from Tuesday’s session once I’d had a chance to review the swings more thoroughly, but I am not satisfied with the overall, so I’ll have to renege on that promise.

The issue is too much rotation, and it isn’t the pivot action but the setup that was causing the issue.

Better Pivot, Nearly Identical Setup = Getting Closer

I got back out and had a pretty interesting day at the lab today, with a better pivot action and what felt like more leverage as a result, but I didn’t spend any time fiddling with the launch monitor.

Seeing that I’ll be hitting balls all autumn and through the winter at the new golf sim that has opened up near my residence, I figure I’ll dispense with the SC300i as I’ll likely get better data with the TracerGolf’s high-speed camera system.

Driver Gif.s – Yesterday Was The Transition Phase

I don’t know if anyone thinks these swings look different from my usual action or not, but there is a whole world of difference in the mechanics of what I was doing yesterday versus before.

I’ll be taking a couple of days to go over what I was doing versus what I should be doing (still too much “pull & turn” which was how I used to swing when left-dominant), but knowing the difference is the key.

Look At This Grip! (And Setup Much Improved)

I didn’t hit a ball for three weeks, working instead on something that was bothering me about the setup and grip.

I was to have gone back to the range after a week following the last session but weather and life intervened, but I made it back out today, and what a change!

This Is Huge For Fall/Winter – 24 Hr Automated Indoor Range!

This is an absolutely massive development for me – I have only ever done my work outdoors, with the exception of having visited an indoor golf dome in Toronto, which was not the best place in the world to shoot video, and which was ridiculously expensive by the hour.

There is also of course the TXG analysis facility in the same city, which is very busy and usually booked for weeks ahead, to which I’ve been a couple of times, but I’ve always wished there was a place close to me that didn’t require the cost of a house down payment per hour.
