I made a setup change and worked on transitioning to a better pivot action than what I’d been making last week and the visual difference was striking when I got home to peruse the video evidence.
I’m not there yet – the pivot change felt very alien after years of Classic Swing pivot action based on Ben Hogan, but I made the changes from last week and when it began to click, I knew I was on the right path.
The thing with making changes, as I’ve said in the past, is that even a small change feels hugely departed from what you’re accustomed to feeling, so you have to really exaggerate the change, and even then, you probably didn’t go far enough.
I made progress, that’s for sure, and perhaps the next time out my “exaggerated” change upon which I’m working will fit the bill.
Here’s what I’ve got:
Driver – Face On
Driver – Down The Line
I’ll be discussing the differences with the changes I’ve made on the weekend, with an eye to being able to eventually describe the action in a way people can understand a little better than what they’ve been translating from Dunaway or Austin.
Granted, nothing they said was ever wrong, but I just keep coming back to the fact that if people understand clearly what they were saying on how to swing with this model, there would be people out there swinging this way (and while there are swingers who are close, they aren’t replicating that model), and making big waves with their speed and distances.
More to come!
