This is what I live for – people taking the mechanically-sound principles and writing me to tell me that they won an event, shot a new personal best score, scored below par for the first time (or the first time in ages), breaking 300 yards for the first time, or something like DM just did.
His email in part, which he graciously allowed me to share:
Today, we played in the Trane Dealer Cup in NC… and I won longest drive with a 360 yard absolute smash on our final hole, which happened to be the long drive hole.
I rolled it at least 10-12 yards past the last longest drive that was marked. He was about 20 feet into the right rough…I was sitting dead center in the fairway.
That was E=MCS all the way! If it wasn’t for you, there’s no way I would have won longest drive! Picture attached for proof!
Thanks for all the help!
That’s about all, really – a big congrats to DM – I remember how pumped I was the first day I drove a ball 350 yards (actually on two different holes the same round), and nothing compares to that juice, let me tell you.
I should warn that results may vary – DM is a nut about the golf swing, and we have had several conversations via email and of course here on the blog on the subject – you aren’t just walking to the tee and blasting a 360 yard poke, unless you’ve really done the work to develop a powerful motion.
He’s earned it, of that I am sure, and all I can say is, “Well done!”
