Catch Me On The “GolfSmarter” Podcast!

Update: The podcast episode is now out, you can find it here!

Hey, WAX Nation, I told you there would be things happening this year that were a little different, and here’s the first part!

I want to thank WAXGolf reader Paul Cervantes (who is himself a writer and golf enthusiast) for referring me to Fred Greene of the the “GolfSmarter” podcast (the highest rated and longest-running golf podcast, by the way, so Fred is a true pioneer of the modern era), and of course Fred for granting me an interview on his show.

Disclaimer: Before we even get to it, I do know the difference between the Femur and the Humerus, but it’s amazing what happens when you’re doing your first podcast interview.

Most people are listening to it over at GolfSmarter but Fred gave me a YouTube link for you to listen to it without leaving the blog if you prefer, below:

During our discussion, I brain-locked and called the thigh bone the Humerus (anyone who has ever had a case of nerves doing an interview knows that it’s difficult at times to even remember one’s own name), so be sure to have a chuckle about that part!

For those of you who love the little details, Fred and I did not discuss any of the material for the show. In fact, the first time we spoke was the ten to fifteen minutes we got to know a little of each other before the interview began.

We did it cold, and I’m very happy that my first podcast experience was with Fred – what I wouldn’t give to be as free and fluid when speaking for an audience as he is.

I have nearly no recollection of what we discussed, as the minutes flew by, but I will put up a post after the podcast hits, with any salient points I either overlooked in my discussion, or that require clarifying (such as that I know that the thighbone is the Femur!).

‘Til then!

This was a great podcast. I listened between appointments today and I really enjoyed it.
Now let’s hope it really starts catching on so we can have a WAXGolf tournament!

Glad you liked it, D.L.! And now that you mention it, a WAXGolf tournament sounds like a great idea if the MCS Golf Swing ever gains traction with a larger audience 😀

Loved the podcast. Tried MCS at the range and had 20% more carry on every club. Back felt amazing and I got my hands and arms to quiet because the club just naturally got on plane/slot.

I can’t believe how consistent and far my iron shots are now. Had to completely recalibrate my gapping with my swing caddy radar and my back just felt great. It felt great, like I’d done heavy squats, not swing a club.

That’s great to hear, Zeb! And that quote from you above – that’s the whole recipe for MCS, you use the hips and legs, not the back and arms, and everything falls into place pretty well once you’ve mastered the setup and pivot action.

The biggest problem is not learning the new, but getting rid of the old habits.

Thanks for the feedback, keep up the good work! 😀
