Well, imagine my amusement when I tweeted on the perils of the Modern Golf Swing last week and received a response from Molinari’s swing guru, Mr. Denis Pugh, on the merits of swinging in the Classic style:
Again, here is Molinari’s Classic Golf Swing action:
If you’re curious as to what the big deal with swinging in this manner, Mr. Pugh gave everyone “The Formula” for free in that tweet – Molinari averaged 301 yards driving distance in 2018, and that’s a man who stands exactly 5’8″ tall!
You know who else is 5’8″ tall and just won a Volvik World Long Drive Championship?
Oh yes – Maurice Allen, who also swings in the Classic Golf Swing style:
I might add that Denis Pugh also coaches Ross Fisher, another Classic Golf Swinger who has won the 2009 Volvo World Match Play Championship at Wentworth, and very impressively, Colin Montgomery, a World Golf HOF member who won a record 8 Orders of Merit (Money Title) on the European Tour, 7 of them in a row.
So, if you have any doubts that the Classic Golf Swing is the way to go after all of the examples I’ve given – just take it from one of the most accomplished golf swing gurus of all time.
After all, he’s got the same Formula as the one I’d prescribe for what ails you.
