Seems there’s a nasty flu going around these parts and I’ve, shall we say, under the weather.
For that reason alone, I’m eager to put 2018 behind me.
Nevertheless, I’m eager to get back to swinging, which brings me to the topic at hand – who else out there is sure that their best swings are before and not behind them?
I for one am quite confident of that, having tightened up my form and learned what my optimal top position is for what I call the “Dunaway Down Swing.”
I won’t bore you all with the descriptions of the angst that plagues one who has been chasing something for years upon years, only to say when you’ve got it, “How on earth did I not get this so long ago?!?”
Suffice to say, better late than never, and luckily for anyone swinging MCS, it was only my personal failing in performing my pivot optimally to get that top position (it was the arm motion, not the leg and hips, for me) – I’ve explained and even demonstrated it properly in the MCS videos, so there’s that.
You’ll remember my saying once, long ago, that it wasn’t my personal swing motion that you wanted to copy, but the theoretical motion of the swing model I’d developed, and even if you couldn’t get there all the way, the closer you got, the better your swing would be.
Well, if I’m correct about my work on the swing, I’ll be able to say that I’m swinging exactly the way the model is built – and that would be fantastic for yours truly!
There are some things, once I’ve proven to myself that I’m there, that I will want to discuss with you all.
For now, a safe and Happy New Year to all, and I’ll see everyone on the other side!
