The “One Major Move” Explained In Full In “Project 2018”

I’ve been quiet lately due to the continuing work on the upcoming “MCS – Project 2018” video, but the light is at the end of the tunnel.

The basic and simplest principles presented in the “E = MCS” swing video will blow your mind when I present the full explanation behind the mechanics.

The reason I’ve been hammering away at the “One Major Move” concept when it comes to the golf swing is because the upcoming video will demonstrate and prove how perfectly the elements of the MCS Golf Swing model come together to create the optimal golf swing.

I’ve broken the “One Major Move” down from the simple action using the power arm with the hips & legs to illustrate how everything flows together from the setup to impact and beyond.

The work I’ve been doing on my own swing was to demonstrate before the video release how you can improve your swing, however good it is, by looking at the MCS model and then finding where you aren’t matching it in your own swing.

The last bit for me has been getting to that better “top” position so that I can use the “gravity drop” that proper leverage and positioning provide naturally when you get it all down right.

If you want to see how the pivot works to set up the down swing leverage from the top, you have only to look at Mike Dunaway down the line:

I like to use Dunaway because of how tight and leveraged his swing was, with no extra moving parts.

But if you look at my own swing using the MCS model, you can see the similar action of the right hip in that pivot getting everything to the top:

I will be completing shooting of video shortly and the editing/production process will begin for the homestretch to release day.

Suffice to say, when you see what I have in store for you all with “MCs – Project 2018,” you will understand exactly why I’ve been so enthused about this video project from Day 1 of its inception!

Really interested in what you have come up with, DJ. Event though it seems simple, I feel there is a lot of nuance and potential for errors in the Major Move. None of them as bad as having bad setup or pivot, but getting MM right is the key to consistency iMHO. A bad MM can even make a solid pivot harder to achieve. Its all connected, but could just be me over analyzing again.

You are absolutely correct about the potential to get things wrong, Jeff. The model itself is very basic and straightforward, but as I’ve said many times, you can have infinite variations that alter the execution and results!

My MM wasn’t too bad in the original “E = MCS” video, but my wrist angle and high elbow were variations from a tighter elbow and flatter wrist… so while fixing both of these for myself, I found something that I know will simplify the MM for a lot of people.

If you have seen what I’ve done to change my action in a short couple of weeks… you already know that I’ve got some golden nuggets of MCS in the pot – just a couple of things to finish taking care of and then we’ll be in homestretch to Release Day! 😀
