Here’s A Question On Power & Speed For The Modern Golf Crowd

That question is, “How can you justify the Modern Golf Swing principles when players are injuring themselves swinging 250 gram drivers?!?”

I’ll continue the thought – you can drive a ball 300 yards with any type of swing, but how do you or can you say Modern Golf Swing principles are the ones to use when players can’t stay healthy swinging that way?

There’s a right way to do something, and just because you can do something (like swing in the Modern style) doesn’t mean it’s the right way, just as I’ve said about driving tent pegs with one’s forehead.

So, from a swing researcher, analyst and modeler – if I can produce 160+ mph ball speed swinging a Momentus Heavy driver, just a couple of ticks below the average ball speed of the PGA Tour players:

Momentus Driver…

… and if I can swing a 20 lb (9 kg) Kettle Bell as hard as I can, in the same way I swing a club, without injuring myself:

20 Lb. Kettle Bell…

… and I am 48 years old, and I don’t work out…

but I happen to do all of this using a Classic Golf Swing model that I’ve built myself, and which allows me to hit ball speed in the 180’s mph with an old Ben Hogan CS3 driver and range balls… without hurting myself

187 MPH Ball Speed – Ben Hogan CS3 Driver…

… and the fastest and most powerful long drivers swing in the same manner:

… and the man with the most majors in PGA Tour history swung in the same way:

Jack Nicklaus – 18 Majors

… and the man with the second most majors in PGA Tour history will never get to 18, largely because of the Modern Golf Swing method he used his entire career, which greatly shortened his peak playing period:

Tiger Woods

What exactly makes the Modern Golf Swing anything other than a flawed, mechanically-unsound way of swinging a golf club?

And here’s a bonus question:

Would you try to swing a 20 lb Kettle Bell as hard as you can, the same way you swing a golf club?

I’d love to get an honest answer from a Modern swing proponent.

But I’ll probably be waiting for some time for any answer…

I did mention that the question is rhetorical I hope, Tom?

Not expecting any answers, because I’m sure by now, even Modern Swing adherents know how harmful it is – they just refuse to try the proper way, likely for aesthetic reasons – like they think the lifting or separating leading heel doesn’t look proper or cool.

They have no problem however with a leading foot flying and flopping around through impact like a landed trout… funny that.

And if they think it takes “stability” out of the swing, again, they have no problem with the supposed weight-bearing foot on the down swing flying and flopping around through impact.

      Again, funny…
