Video Out-Takes – Day 1 Shoot

The Welshman was manning his own camera yesterday while we shot Day 1 of the “E = MCS” video, and he sent me a portion taken from the diagonal-dtl  while the actual shoot camera was positioned diagonal-utl.

I whipped up a little out-take video, and this is all we did yesterday – I would hit Driver, 5i, 7i and PW in both real time and then again in slow-motion, then we’d set up another angle and do it all over again.

I don’t know how many balls I hit for the day, but I definitely got my exercise.

For those who enjoy the process:

“E = MCS” Shoot Day 1

I will be delighted if, when I get to check the shoot video, we got it all down to my satisfaction, because the swing shoot is always the most intense part of it.

There is no way to get all of the swings from which I’ll choose for the video except to get as many as possible from multiple angles, and that is taxing work.

If that part is completed, then it’s on to the tutorial shoot, and then likely a wrap-up day to re-shoot anything that comes to mind, and on to the editing process.

Still lots of work, but Day 1 seems to have come off very well, but I’ll know for sure later today, when I get my hands on the 4K video.

More to come!

That was Welshman’s Canon, wait ’til you see the actual 4K video, doubou!

We actually didn’t shoot this particular angle with the 4K, but if it’s a popular angle with people, I’ll make sure to shoot some swings with the 4K…

Well, it looks like I’ll be shooting that angle on 4K then, thanks for the feedback, guys. 😀

OFF TOPIC: (maybe delete) Memorial tournament today on Golf Channel: Nicklaus talking to announcer Terry Gannon & Faldo. Nicklaus talking about what he was trying to do…mentioned that it was different from Faldo…but Jack liked Phil’s swing. Doesn’t like the modern swing…too jerky.

(And, thumbs-up on your non-conventional camera angle.)

Of course Nicklaus would hate the modern swing – it’s the polar opposite of what he did to win 18 majors… and of course he’d like Phil’s swing, it’s a classic swing model similar to his.

And there will be more angles I’ve not shown heretofore… cheers. 🙂

I made a point to re-watch the Nicklaus conversation when the show was repeated in the evening:

Nicklaus mentioned the “turn in a barrel” idea…which I interpret as not making a horizontal shift.

Whew…I’ll pass of the grabbing-the-hair idea by Jack Grout.

Nicklaus commented on the modern players “posting-up” on the left leg, as opposed to using the left leg [the way you do]. Maybe Nicklaus had Rory in mind. He also mentioned that Faldo somewhat appeared to do that, and Faldo kind of agreed.

Nicklaus mentioned that the modern swing is not in the best interest of the players.

I don’t know why Faldo mentioned “spine angle” because Nicklaus was the poster-boy for a relaxed spine.

And how many people will actually listen what the G.O.A.T. has to say about a proper swing?

      Sadly, far too few…
