I was able to break down and reassemble my swing so quickly this spring (using the “3 Pillars,” formerly “Dropping The Hammer” concept) because I’ve always had the components, but I needed to really nail down the adjusted address position to accommodate my spinal deformity, and I think you’ll all agree that I finally got there.
I especially liked the enhanced “drop” in the “drop & pop” segment of the down swing, which was not complete in my previous swings because of the “pull” bringing the shoulders around early, but now, with the adjusted stance, I am just dropping that club, “dropping the hammer,” if you will, on the ball:
When you get the pulling leverage synced up with the right side “drop” or “push” action, your swing will feel effortless, absolutely effortless, but the power will astound you, as you can see in my reaction to one of my drives (the face-on angle).
DJ’s MCS Golf Swing – 3 Angles
I’ve used the 9i, 7i, 5i and Driver in this segment – I don’t like even the 9 iron off mats, and I really don’t like wedges, because of the pounding your hands and tendons will take if you don’t sweep the ball.
That’s something you really don’t want to be doing with the shorter clubs (should be coming through the ball with enough descent to take a divot), because trying to pick your wedges cleanly will usually lead to a tragic outcome.
Expect me to have a little more shaft lean than you see with the iron when I’m on natural grass, but that’s about the only adjustment for the mats.
So, there’s nothing new in the MCS Golf Swing model, friends – if you have the MCS Golf Swing Trilogy videos, this is the same swing, just performed better than I have performed it before now, and while I’ll never have a standard physique with my deformity – I have my optimal MCS Golf Swing.
As I’ve said, this closes the chapter on both my personal swing research and the model building of the MCS Golf Swing, and I will be figuring out where to go from here in the coming days.
I’ll likely take a look at what my long drive swings will do for me now with the adjusted swing.
For now, I’m going to enjoy smashing some balls and hitting them long and straight!
