I had been planning last autumn to publish some material on Amazon and to pull my Wax Golf videos from the store shelf, and I may still do that once I get around to Amazon, but I have a whole other kettle of fish to stew right now with this project.
My primary focus right now, as it has been over the years, is on my readers and on this website, and Amazon can wait, as far as I’m concerned.
If people are so interested in a mechanically-sound swing model and concepts to go with that – they should already be here! If not, I will get to that when I am satisfied that Wax Nation gets everything first!
So, here’s what the start of 2017 is going to entail:
The original intent of the “MCS – Beyond Perfect Pivot” had been to wrap things up with the MCS swing model, and it wasn’t going to be a stand-alone video, but it will definitely be able to stand on its own as a swing video.
Just as the previous MCS videos stood alone if you only had the one or the other (“Ultimate Leverage,” “Kinesiology” and “Perfect Pivot”), and just as any combination of the videos are golden for swing mechanics aficionados, I’m going to produce “MCS – Dropping The Hammer,” formerly titled “Beyond Perfect Pivot” in the same manner.
That said, everything about “Beyond Perfect Pivot” holds true – this is likely my last video for the site, because once you’ve figured out the mechanically-optimal address position (“Ultimate Leverage” & “Kinesiology”), and once you’ve figured out the “Perfect Pivot” with regards especially to the back swing pivot and explaining the concept of a mechanically-optimal down swing (yes, the last video referenced Mike Dunaway in passing)… you’re getting near the end of the line if not there.
However, when you crack the actual down swing action of thee Mike Dunaway, former club tester for the Callaway Big Bertha back in the late 80’s and early 90’s – there’s nowhere left to go!
So, yes, we’ve pretty much run out the string here, and it all took about two and a half years from the time I began studying Hogan’s pivot again back in the summer of 2014 and then developed the model you first saw in “Ultimate Leverage” over the winter of ’14-’15.
You could even call it this video “Finding Mike Dunaway,” in a way – just as my previous breakthrough on the Mike Austin swing model was delivered with the 2013 “MPS – Finding Mike Austin” video.
I have cracked the down swing of Mike Dunaway, and I did it using the concepts that will be in the upcoming video.
And I have decided that this video will be available publicly, at least for a short time, after production and release – but those who ordered in advance will still enjoy the discount they got for having done so before all of these developments.
So, we are now “Beyond Perfect Pivot,” we’re going to be “Dropping the Hammer,” and to my old Mike Austin/Dunaway crew (some of you are still here, even after I decided Austin’s model wasn’t “it”), get ready to finally be told how it was that Dunaway produced that hypnotic down swing move so packed with power!
It is, of course, rooted in both the address position within the MCS matrix and also the mechanical action of the transition – this is why I was able to do it in theory and when I consciously manipulated my down swing – but when you understand the concept, you can do it unconsciously as Dunaway himself would have done so.
I don’t know how this process works, I just go with it – but it seems that every time I decide I have gathered enough material for a new project… it releases a tidal wave of new concepts and material.
I ain’t gonna complain – let’s ride this pony.
It’s a good way to start 2017, is it not?
More to come!
