Of course there are variations in the MCS principles, just as there are with the full swing, depending on the type of shot or shape you want, and so there would be some adjustments from the full swing address position for the short game.

Not only that, if you superimpose my stance for the chip shot over the stance for the full swing with a pitching wedge, you’ll see something else:
Notice how, if you line up my head and shoulders from both the chip and the full swing, you also get the arms, hands and the ball in virtually the same position – ergo, it’s the same MCS stance and the same action principles are in play.
