And all I’m talking about it refining what the MCS theory provides in positional and mechanical concepts, until you reach the impact position that simply can’t be improved upon.
Grasping the concept is one thing – then you have to implement it and execute it to your fullest capability, and I know I’m not there yet… but I’m getting closer.
It all starts at address, and from there you pivot to the top, and if everything is going according to plan, you’ll get to impact in a great position of leverage and power.
So there are three crucial positions, and everything in between is motion – this is why you can’t teach a golf swing by trying to achieve “positions” in the swing.
You are at rest at address, you transition from back swing to down swing at the top, and everything between consists of motion.
Similarly, you begin the down swing from the top, and between this and impact, there is simply motion.
I could go further and talk about all of the positions between impact and the finish consisting of motion, but if you’re in proper address position and come into impact in proper form, the follow-through to the finish is largely pre-ordained.
So, I have additional issues with all of this all you know, because I have a spinal twist that makes standing and swinging in the “standard” template impossible, if I want to swing naturally and freely.
I have to make adjustments to my address stance, but having figured out the exact nature of my personal physical issues around six months ago, I am getting very close.
So, I’m getting there, and the work I’m doing on the full swing between now and the end of the season following completion of the MCS Short Game project will involve going “Beyond Perfect Pivot…”
And that will involve the concept I’m developing that will complement and perhaps even replace the Swing Angle concept.
