The proof is visible to any who care to look – my personal golf swing with the Ben Hogan-inspired “Perfect Pivot” action, just keeps getting better and better, every time I swing.
There is a limit to improvement, of course – but the closer you get to the “perfect” theoretical model of any action, the better it will be, by definition.
And having taken over six weeks since my return from Southern California, not to think over the MCS swing model (which hasn’t changed since I developed it 18 months ago, I just get better at performing the swing, closer and closer to the model) in order to make personal adjustments for my physical deformity, I am becoming ever more pleased with my swing mechanics.
Unless you are perfect, my friends -there is always room for improvement, if you can spot the areas in need.
They will almost invariably include making adjustments to your address position, and perhaps sometimes also your mechanical action.
I have never swung better, technically, than I did yesterday when I went to the Dome to test out my adjustments.
I might also add that this session followed two weeks of no swinging, and came 48 hours after I found myself flat on my back for the day with a stomach bug.
It’s all about technique… not muscle strength…
DJ Swings Driver – “Perfect Pivot” Action
For myself, it is simply finding the stance adjustment that allows me to swing freely and naturally (a must for an athlete who is accustomed to reacting athletically and not guiding/steering one’s movements) and still come to impact with a square shoulder position, which is impossible from a standard set-up with my scoliosis.
You may never have a perfect swing, you may never hit a perfect shot, but if you can imitate Ben Hogan’s pivot action – which is another variation of the classic, “floating heel” golf swing – that will be as close to perfect as you can get.
I’ll take it…
I’ll have some down the line video to show after I finish editing.
Wax Members however can head to DJ’s Watering Hole to check out some 5 iron swings from a clip I’ve made for you to view.
